The holiday season is coming faster than you think, and it’s bound to be a busy time for your chiropractic practice. To make sure that you can fully capitalize, it’s crucial that you let new and potential patients know when you’ll be open. Customers tend to find this information two ways: through your Google Business Profile and your Facebook page. Knowing how to update normal business hours and special business hours on both platforms ensures that you can keep patients in the loop year-round.
How to Change Business Hours on Google & Facebook
Updating Hours on Google Business Profile
Normal Operating Hours
- Sign in to your Google Business Profile.
- Navigate to Edit profile, marked with a pencil icon.
- In the Business information screen, navigate to Hours.
- Click the pencil icon under Business Hours>Hours.
- Select Open with main hours. Selecting Open with no main hours will hide your business hours, which is not ideal.
- Set the hours for each day by using the corresponding Opens at and Closes at dropdowns.
- If your business will be closed on a day of the week, toggle the Closed box.
- Save after all hours are set.
Split Hours
If you need to set split hours because your practice closes every day for a brief period for lunch, you can do the following:
- Follow steps 1-6 from above, setting the Closes at box to the hour that you will close for break.
- Click the + symbol next to the Closes at box.
- In the new Opens at and Closes at dropdowns, set the remaining business hours for that day after the break.
- Save after all hours are set.
Special Operating Hours
- Follow steps 1-3 from above.
- Navigate to Business hours>Special hours and click the pencil icon to edit.
- Set hours for suggested dates, which will include holidays like Labor Day, Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year’s Eve. If your practice will be open, be sure to uncheck the box labeled Closed. Leave this box checked if you will not be open on that particular date.
- To add custom dates: Select + Add a date, add the date, and follow the same process.
- Save after all hours are set.
Temporary Closure
If you plan to close for 7 days or more, be it for an extended vacation or construction, Google also allows you to mark your business as Temporarily closed. To do this, follow steps 1-4 under the normal operating hours process, and select Temporarily closed rather than Open with main hours.
Updating Hours on Facebook
Normal and Holiday Operating Hours
- Once logged in to Facebook, click the profile photo in the top right corner.
- Select See all profiles and select your business’s Page.
- From your business Page, click the Edit button. It will be beneath your cover photo on the right, aligned with your business’s name.
- In the About column on the right-hand side, navigate to Details.
- Click the Edit Icon under Hours.
- Set your hours by toggling Open on selected hours, checking the blue + box next to each day, and setting Opening and Closing hours. This will also allow you set split hours if you close for short periods during the business day.
- Because Facebook does not have a temporary hours feature, you will need to manually reset hours before, during, and after holidays when needed.
- You can also use the Temporarily Closed setting for vacation, remodeling, etc.
As you can see, updating your normal and holiday business hours on Google and Facebook is a pretty simple process. But it’s even easier when you leave the work to a trusted agency.
