Frighteningly Fun Marketing Ideas

Halloween is one of my favorite holidays. The ghosts, the goblins, the candy -- what’s not to love? So even though All Hallow’s Eve will be different this year, I can’t help but feel excited. With Halloween just weeks away, there’s no need to wait until October 31st to make the most of spooky season. Check out a few tips to get started with your Halloween marketing.

Get in the Spooky Spirit

Even if your business seems like it can’t be scary, you can still get in the spirit of things. Give your design, products, or services a spooky spin. If you’re an online retailer, highlight a line of Halloween themed items. If you’re a restaurant or bar, feature scary-good snacks or a good old Witch’s Brew. Gyms can offer themed classes where participants dress up and the best costume gets a prize. Even tech companies can get in on the fun...vampires just want a byte, after all.

The possibilities are endless and Halloween isn’t reserved for products like candy, masks, costumes, and decor. An important part of a successful marketing plan is flexibility, so adapt the holiday for your products and business to get people talking about your brand.

Don’t Be Vexed by Virtual Promotions

Practicing social distancing doesn’t mean the end of Halloween promotions. Just as we’ve gone digital for just about everything else, we can for Halloween fun, too! Boost user engagement and conversions by hosting a digital Halloween promotion. By taking things online, you have the potential to reach a much wider audience. Plus you will create an entertaining and rewarding experience for your current and potential customers.

Whether it’s hiding coupon codes somewhere on your website, giving customers an offer to use during Halloween week, hosting a virtual costume contest, giving a small treat (or trick) with purchases, there is still plenty of Halloween fun to be had… even if it is online!

Connect with Other Ghouls

Community engagement is important no matter what time of year, but especially during the holidays. Even Halloween. Especially Halloween! Communities typically host Halloween celebrations and if your area is moving forward with celebrations, see how your business can take part.

If not, there are plenty of other options, too. You could team up with other local businesses and create a spooky scavenger hunt, participate in trick-or-treating, offer dress up discounts, or host a socially-distanced pumpkin carving contest. The key to these partnerships is working with brands that have a similar mission to your own. Cross-promotion will help you both gain more exposure and could lead to valuable connections.

When it comes to holiday marketing, don’t be afraid to get in the ~spirit~ of things. Need help getting started? Connecting with one of our marketing experts is so good, it’s scary. Just click here to get started and we hope you have a hauntingly good Halloween!
