And just like that, the holiday season is upon us! While this is a time for festivities, friends, and family, it’s important not to forget about your valued customers. One often-overlooked aspect is updating your holiday hours on your Google business listing. Let’s learn how to change your holiday business hours on Google so you can keep your customers in the loop.
Why Is Keeping Your Hours Updated Important?
Create a Pleasant Customer Experience
During the holidays, customers often have different schedules and may want to know if your business is open. Providing accurate holiday hours helps manage their expectations and ensures they don't visit your establishment when it's closed.
Improve Your Google Visibility
Google often displays holiday hours prominently in search results, making your business more visible to potential customers searching for products or services during the holidays. Businesses that have confirmed their holiday hours are more likely to display in relevant results to users.
How to Change Holiday Hours on Google for Your Business Listing
- Start by logging into your Google Business Profile (formerly Google My Business) account. If you haven't claimed your business yet, now is the perfect time to do so.
- Once you're in your dashboard, select the 'Info' tab.
- Scroll down to find the “Special Hours” section. This is where you can specify your holiday hours.
- Click on “Edit” next to the “Special Hours” section. Here, you can enter the dates when your business will have different hours than usual.
- Specify the opening and closing hours for each holiday. If your business is closed on a particular holiday, you can mark it as “Closed.”
- Don't forget to save your changes!
Google will now display your updated holiday hours on your listing during the specified dates!
