Facebook is now offering messenger bots to automate messages being sent from your Facebook page. While this may seem like a pretty straightforward thing to set up, there are a lot of factors to consider to make it seem like people are actually having a conversation with you and not a bot. So here are 3 tips to help you improve your messenger bot.
1. Focus on your customers
Don't create a bot because other Facebook pages are doing it. Think about what your customers commonly ask you and create your bot responses around their particular needs. As your messenger bot starts to work for you, you may need to tweak some of your responses to best address your customers needs.
2. Give your customers options
Consider where your bot could fit in to your ideal customer-buying journey. Do you need a separate bot for different buying stages? You can have multiple responses that point people in various directions. A bot doesn't have to be a sales tool it can assist with customer service and research as well.
3. Test what works
Messenger bots are here to help you improve the customer experience. This will give you more time to focus on how to draw in more customers and to continuously improve their experience. Don’t be afraid to refine your messenger bot on a regular basis. For example, you can test a conversation-focused interface against a more menu-driven interface.
Even if you ultimately decide that you would rather manually respond to each customer message on Facebook, it is still worth experimenting with Facebook Messenger bots to see if it is a good fit for your business. It is the future of automated chatting.

Using Facebook for Business: The Basics
This past weekend, I was a guest speaker at a conference for chiropractors. I spoke for about 90 minutes on how to use Facebook and Instagram for your business. During (and after) my presentation I received a lot of questions from the group about how to schedule posts, share them, comment on them etc. This is all stuff I would consider basic, but it dawned on me that many people do not know how to do this so I created a demonstration video for the group. However, everything I am showing will apply to you guys as well so I wanted to share it with you.
Using Facebook Insights to Best Engage with your Audience
I've been writing all these blog posts lately explaining how to improve your social media presence, specifically on Facebook. And, coincidentally, I just spoke on one of my client's webinars to show their fanbase how to review Facebook insights to get the most out of their social media. So I pulled my portion of the webinar together into a video clip to share with you guys. You'll probably notice my dog barking in the background throughout...she gets just as fired up about marketing as I do and couldn't seem to help herself :) Hope you enjoy!
